Paxton Access Control

Only last month we were celebrating the 30th birthday of Paxton Access Control, and today we’re celebrating once again as the market leader of electronic access control introduces the next generation of its leading door entry system – Net2 Entry.

In its latest move, Paxton has introduced two brand new panels as well as the release of updated software within Net2 Entry. The innovative design features an intuitive panel interface and a digital pan/tilt camera to capture an angled view, making it suitable for a diverse range of locations. Combined with MIFARE® technology, the new system offers enhanced door entry functionality and is being welcomed as the ultimate security solution.

Paxton Access Control has showcased its 30 years’ industry experience in Net2. When the group diversified in 2012, its first entry door system Net2 Entry was received to great industry acclaim, commended for its simplicity and ease-of-use. The system consists of three components; the external panel, interior monitor and the door controller, all of which auto-detect on set up. The system has been so well received by installers, including ourselves, that it’s won the PSi Premier Award for Access Control for the last three years running.

In terms of hardware, two new panels are available: the slimline standard with its high contrast back-lit keypad, or the tougher vandal resistant model – made from corrosion-resistant 316L marine grade stainless steel; it can weather even the harshest environment. As for the software, the update includes a versatile and innovative new grouping feature. This allows for smarter management – Net2 Entry is able to separate multiple systems into groups, which will allow the control of selected monitors from a chosen panel. This type of function is especially useful in scenarios such as multi-tenant buildings and for commercial buildings such as offices.

Another feature that reflects Paxton’s modern approach to its entry systems is the improved signal and communication compatibility – users can now answer their door via their intuitive touchscreen monitor, smartphone, office phone, computer or tablet. In an age where it seems everything must be conveniently accessible via smartphone, this flexibility is sure to prove popular with users and installers alike.
